Rosie Grundell and Kate Wise
Rosie, also known as The Wood Wife, is a mixed media artist based in Scarsdale. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal bushland surrounding her studio, Rosie combines natural fibres, dried flora, recycled wood, and found objects with paper clay, needle felting, beads, and paint decoration to create weird and wonderful characters: elves, witches, fairies, sprites, and woodland creatures. She also makes miniature homes, whimsical settings and dioramas to showcase her theatre of unique creatures and their habitats. Rosie is equally known for creating fantastical dragons and for her diverse range of paper clay mushrooms.
Kate has been a full time artist for 5 years. She sells her work online and has a retail gallery in Ballarat. She works from her home studio in Haddon, creating calm, feminine and flowing landscapes, seascapes, botanicals, and abstract paintings.
