Help us put Communities on the Map! Join our Missing Maps Mapathon on 26 November!
We are hosting a Missing Maps Mapathon on 26 November with the aim to assist local and international NGOs, and grassroots organizations, in navigating some of the world’s most hard-to-reach places.
By mapping out remote locations or reimagining lost infrastructure, we help ensure that aid organisations can get to where their help is needed the most. You don't need anything but your laptop to join the Mapathon. We will provide you with instructions for how to map, and you will be mapping together with others in this joint effort.Welcome to join our digital mapathon, starting at 6:00 PM (18.00). The activity ends at 7:30 PM (19:30).*
It is an exciting and meaningful evening where you can make a direct impact on humanitarian efforts. During 1,5 hours participants will receive a brief training on how to work with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team - an open, free and crowd-sourced platform - and then take part in a practical mapping session remotely tracing satellite imagery of buildings, roads and more. You can participate from anywhere where there is a wifi connection.
So mark your calendar for 26 November at 6.00 PM, and join us in bridging the 'map gap'!
